DESCRIPTION:\n2026-2030 TIP \n\n\n\nProject Updates to 2025-2050 MTP\n\n\n\nOpen House\n\n\n\nA metropolitan planning organization (MPO) is a federally mandated and federally funded transportation policy-making organization that is made up if representatives from local governments and governmental transportation authorities. Congress created MPO’s to ensure that existing and future expenditures of federal funds for transportation projects and programs are based on a Continuing, Cooperative, and Comprehensive (3C’s) planning process.\n\n\n\nThe Kokomo and Howard County Governmental Coordinating Council (KHCGCC) Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is in the process of creating the 2026 – 2030 Transportation Improvement Plan (TIP) and is requesting public input.\n\n\n\nThe Kokomo and Howard County Governmental Coordinating Council (KHCGCC) Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is in the process of updating the 2025 – 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan (MTP) project list and is requesting public input.\n\n\n\nThe public comment period will be open from December 16, 2024, to January 30, 2025. In person meetings will be held: \n\n\n\nTuesday January 14, 2025, 1pm – 6pm\n\n\n\nThursday January 23, 2024, 9am – 4pm\n\n\n\nMeeting location is 219 E.
